How to improve Dragonborn Senses Feat?

How can one improve this most useless of feats (low light vision and +1 to perception...yay! :P )

Seriously, this has to be the most pathetic feat in the game. I was thinking maybe give them a scent like ability, or pehaps grant a +1 bonus to init, or something. As it is its the king of suck.

I think you're either underestimating low light vision or overestimating the power of heroic-tier feats.

Being able to negate one of the most common causes of concealment (a -2 to hit, plus ability to use stealth) is no small matter.

Generally people who think these types of feats suck are people who pay no attention to lighting. If lighting is irrelevant in your game, then yeah, replace low-light with something else.

Today, in fact, a dragonborn paladin was unable to attack a hyena that was outside of the Light radius without a -2 penalty, and he missed because of it. He also hasn't used his chosen feat, power attack, a single time in 3 sessions. So Dragonborn Senses would have been a much better choice for him so far.

Yay, indeed! I would get that feat in a heartbeat, if I wouldn't have to play a Dragonborn to get it. ;)

I think you guy's are blowing the heroic tier must be weak thing way out of proportion. Compare this crappy feat to some other heroic tier feats:

Power Attack
Weapon Focus
Enlarged Dragon Breath
Dragonborn Frenzy
Astral Fire
Human Perserverance
Eladrin Soldier

So yeah, dborn senses is underpowered, unless you are playing your entire campaign in a world that is perpetually shrouded in twilight.

Maybe give them darkvision instead, and increase perception bonus to +2.

Also, check out the drow race, they get it for free. And its a MM race (check out how much uber the warforged got in the dragon issue writeup)

If you think Power Attack, Enlarged Dragon Breath, or Eladrin Soldier are examples of strong feats... well, let's just say that your priorities are utterly different from the majority of players. Those are about the three crappiest feats in the game.

I'm not exactly sure why 'Eladrin Soldier' is considered bad. I'm willing to be convinced, but a blanket +2 to damage for our party's Eladrin Warlord is something he's very enthusiastic about. In fact, with that, he does the most damage of any party member with almost all attacks.
