So DDI... Of all the functions, I think I like the dungeon designer part the most. But how will this help my gaming group? Here is the scenario...
We have 4 people at the gaming table now. A DM, and 3 players. We have two people who play via webcam. We use D&D tiles and a grid, so the webcam is pointed at the map. Still, the webcam people often have to ask us to explain things because it is hard to see over the webcam. The DM (who hosts) has 1 PC away from the game table, and one of the players has a laptop at the table (which the other webcam is hooked up to).
So this D&D dungeon designer thing seems perfect for us. But is it?
The way I see it, the DM will now have to spend twice the amount of time creating the dungeon and twice the amount of time DMing the dungeon. He'll have to build it on the table, then he'll have to build it on one of the computers. Then as we progress in the dungeon, the CG-dungeon will have to mimic what the table top dungeon looks like.
It just seems like too much work really.
Is the dungeon designer stricktly for groups where ALL their players are playing from a computer? That seems like the only way to really take advantage of it.
