How would one go about making a... 'Chosen' character?

I'm not sure if it's the type of campaign you want to play, but what is commonly assumed to be true and what is the actual truth can be different.

Prophecy or people may expect one person to be the Chosen One, but in reality he is supported by the rest of his party and wouldn't be able to win without them. It would take someone who is good at roleplaying to take that role, however (so as to not overshadow everyone else).

Just my 2cp

PS. My campaign, despite its title, isn't about a "Chosen One"

-Nodnod- Which is exactly why a one-on-one campaign works better, unless you have the Fushigi Yuugi styled storyline, in which there is one 'Chosen' from some other place, which ends up prompting the coming together of the other pre-destined people of that time together, so they can bring about this new age of peace, or whatever.

However, in the game I'm currently in with my DM (Sengoku Jidai period Oriental Adventures), Ryu has been on his own and survived quite well, and some of the time has had the assistance (like when he was at level one) of a level four Samurai, Anko.
