How would you do 3.5e in 160 pages?

I've actually started to convert some of this to Open Office myself. I'll release PDF's along the way. (And hopefully we'll have enough room for a table of contents and maybe an index...)

Joe, are you or green_slime going to do any more with that file, or should I take another crack at it now?

If I was paring down the core books to one volume, I'd lower the level cap, which would mean smaller charts, fewer class abilities and far fewer spells. Level 10 is a nice end point.

I like 6, but there's been several who would like up to 12, which I also think would be awesome. In fact, that's why I've been sticking to races, skills, and such - because those won't change regardless of what cap is used.

If you edit heavily you might shave off a lot more...

Editing the SRD the way I did was hard enough, I'm not that keen to start from scratch and replicate what I did again... but that's a very nice document (probably not OGC kosher though, as it replicates WotC trade dress)

If it replicates Wotc trade dress it would be a trade dress infringement, it's pretty OGL kosher though (as far as i know Wotc didn't claim that their trade dress was PI). If wotc considers the use of Celestia Antiqua and Pterra to be their trade dress and communicates that to me i'll change it. I spent a lot of money on aquiring those fonts for embeded pdf use, so i would hate to see them go to waste...

When you have a document that's 'finished' i'll take a look at it and maybe i'll throw it in my ID templates...
