After I explained that the character was the creation of someone on a sheet of paper for the purpose of a game I imagine explaining anything else would be easy. :D

"The internet is like a demiplane where everyone is more brave than a Paladin fighting a Red Wyrm. It's a place where you don't need ale to get the courage to say the filthiest, rudest, and most perverted & sexual things to another person in hopes of spending the night together. It's a realm where even the town idiot can argue & debate with the wisest of sages, and both will appear as morons and still be wrong. Thieves & scoundrels can commit crimes from the safety of their own homes and never get caught. It's more foul than the Abyss, and more annoying than Mt. Celestia."

Specifically, a discussion bulletin board?
Well since bulletin boards are a thing outside of teh interweb...

It's a bulletin board, only people use it to discuss things. Plus, it's sort of on another plane (lightening/electricity) - so only so called "moderators" can physically change or rip down previous messages. You generally need to be literate to use it, though there are image boards for "special" internauts.
You'll need an artefact called "computer" to access it - the whole internet bases on a lot of sending spells exchanged between similar artefacts, and it's all performed using linguistics:binar. Those "computers" have this language as default on top of some other languages.
BTW - watch what you're doing, and saying - it's really easy to scry on you while you're using it.

Specifically, a discussion bulletin board?

Alright, so imagine there's this giant bulletin board sitting in some wizards tower.

He's got spells in place to let other wizards use their crystal ball to view the messages on the board.

he's also modified each of these crystal balls to be able to cast a special version of Message that posts a new message on the board, anywhere they want on the board.

With this, wizards can post a question, or answer somebody else's posting on this board, all through their special crystal ball.

4 sentences. how hard is that?
