How would you keep a Frenzied Beserker from killing the whole party?

I am only one level from having my Barbarian3/Fighter9 become Frenzied Beserker1. I do not want to make my party too unhappy just a little.

Any suggestions as to how you would keep a Frenzied Beserker from killing the party?

He has a will save of 9 (that is with a +2 Periapt of Wis and a +2 Cloak of Resistance)

I think Tanglefoot bags will be of little use when he has a Strength of 30 (with Bull's Strength, Rage, & Frenzy.)

I do want them to be a little unpappy but not all dead. :D

First, why do if they boost him up with spells and magical items that make him tougher, they might be digging their own grave. So, they might need a wand of dispel magic or something like that for emergencies.

The only buff spell is Bull's Strength (1d4+1) So is that solution to use the Wand of Dispell Magic to give him a strength of 25?

Will those 2 points To Hit and 2 points To Damage (four points To Damage if he shifts 2 from To Hit) be the way to stop him?

The Wisdom boosts help him to not kill his friends, by making his will save to stop the Frenzy wne only his party is left.

Throw him out. I certainly wouldn't trust a psycho like that to travel with me into the most dangerous places whilst holding a large weapon and potentially standing guard while I sleep.

I'd keep him from killing me by leaving him behind. If someone I've travelled with suddenly loses the ability to tell friend from foe and attacks me in a mindless rage, at the very least I will be walking away. At worst, he'll be the one not walking away. It would all depend on the vengefulness of my current character.

I agree with a couple of the other posters. I wouldn't party with someone that had no control over his faculties. It is much like having a D&D 2e CN Barbarian in the party.

Some of the prestige classes in these expansion books do not make good player characters; they make great NPCs. This particular one, IMO, falls in the latter category.

What kind of friends are you?

You're saying that you would abandon a trusted friend who lost control of his temper? I realize that he's coming at you with a blade, but it's not like you've never had that happen before.

He has temper problems, and is hard to calm down after a killing frenzy. You know this, he admits it, and you take steps to prevent it. What's the problem?
