How would you play....?

The character would likely be a social butterfly, always making sure she didn't miss a moment of the action. I don't think she'd need to be arrogant necessarily, or really vain. Although she would I imagine keep herself looking nice. Obviously being vain can have some fun role-playing hooks as have been mentioned. Also, while I agree I would want to imagine some slinky sultry seductress, being plump as someone said, would, however, in my mind not be a bad thing for a hedonist. I can certainly imagine having her fully enjoy good food and that translating into her being more full than some thin girl.

I'd imagine hedonists and priestess of Sharess being big obviously in all the senses. So, clothes with different textures, flavorful food, nicely cut comfortable clothing, attractive appearances, good smells (perfume etc.), and a lover of music, dance, etc. etc.

I've had lots of fun role-playing characters like that, but in real life I'm a bit of a social butterfly anyways, so I just get to ramp it up in the game.

Keep in mind if you are playing a beautiful female in a party of males you are probably going to be harrassed (in-game) - I just finished playing a priestess of Sune and after being come on to by our half-ogre fighter I had to tell him, "You're too big for me, sweetheart." That got a lot of laughs.
This is true. I played a secondary character in a Shadowrun game (sort of in a cohort role to my main runner) who was an attractive female. I never even considered this possibility, but several times during the campaign one of the cyber sammies made comments. Took me by surprise.

So long as your game is mature, the comments won't really be a problem, of course.

Then again, playing this kind of character....well, if your game isn't mature, it can lead to a lot more problems than a few stray comments.

It sure does. In one round I played in (it has to be said that it was all-evil, and the kind of all-evil where you don't really work together) it split the party in two. Of course, the main problem was that the player in question was unable to keep in-game and out-of-game apart: We (the players) made some teasing comments about his character (a female anti-paladin, and that was in the 2e days where they had to have high charisma), and he assumed that our characters did (which they didn't) and attacked. (He did similar things in other games. He's not playing with us any more.)

Hmm....thanks for the ideas....i have yet to play with the group, (this will be my first game with them), but from what i understand, they are fairly mature (the group is 3 couples, so its half female already.....might consider switching the character to male just to make it easier). Of course, the DM is making us start out as NPC classes (im choosing aristocrat for first level) and he/she has 3 different courtiers outfits...and will get more with more money. Definitely eats well, spends a lot of time with the opposite gender, etc.

Good luck with your new group, Taloras!

If I might make one last suggestion. I'd hold off on the more overt aspects of your character concept for a few sessions, just until you get to know your fellow gamers' personalities a little. In the right group, a concept such as yours can be interested and add to the gaming experience. But in the wrong group, it can also create problems. I'd just play down his/her role as a priest(ess) of Sharess for a couple weeks, until I knew that my new group wouldn't react negatively to it.

Anyway, good luck with your new group! :)

The opposite angle might be a minimalist character, who dresses plainly and acts modestly, eats frugally and abstains from excess except as part of a significant holy ritual. The idea being that the senses are trained to appreciate the most subtle sensation. Maybe they even fast and remain celibate in long preparation for great holy day orgiastic (?) feasts.
