Don't Google the age of the heroine in the 1st Conan movie.
I only found out recently via reddit iirc.
It is actually the second, in "Destroyer".

Olivia D'Abo (?) was only 16 IIRC when the movie was filmed. (EDIT: 15, I just looked it up to clarify.)

I had such a crush on her back then in 1984. Of course, I was only 11 lol. :)

Don't forget about the blades shooting from it for short "ranged" attacks.

I actually just rewatched this movie 4 or 5 nights ago. Love the campiness of it, but man it is BBBBAAADDDD (in a good way!). :ROFLMAO:
If I could’ve found the gif of the blades launching out, I’d have posted that! 😂

Never really thirsted over Hollywood actors or had major crush.

Jennifer Connolly is probably the closest. Labyrinth movie age 9 or so.

Yeah, but my point is that while some films used to do this, it's kind of difficult for the average viewer to discern that particularly by the time this movie came out, and then it just descends into rumor at that point.

John Milius is still alive. I'm sure for some guns and whiskey he would tell us.

I never realized there was that much time between the books, but I read them both at the same time and was late to the Ravenloft party. Never read or played Dance of the Dead or Night of the Living Dead. I liked Ravenloft but my group at the time just partied too much while we played and cracked too many jokes to get the right mood for the setting. I'm not sure that's changed much aside from different players now.
If we didn't manage the full-on Gothic horror of the setting, we at least approached Castlevania levels. Which, I suspect is not an uncommon approach for Ravenloft.

I agree with you on the original. I really didn't remember much of anything about it from when I originally watched it in the 80s other than I didn't care for it much. The casting and acting seemed kind of weak, and Basil Poledouris seemed phone it in by recycling the same score. Never realized that Giadas father, Dino De Laurentiis produced both movies, and I was reading today that Arnold refused to renegotiate his contract with them and was attached to Raw Deal when a 3rd Conan movie was in development that eventually became Kevin Sorbos vehicle "KULL THE CONQUEROR". I think it's for the best that a third movie was never made then and Arnold probably knew that based on the results of the Destroyer. Remember kids, Wikipedia is your friend.
Gah, Kull the Conqueror! What makes Kull such an interesting character is his moodiness, philosophy, and yes, depression. All nuances that Kevin Sorbo and the script completely missed.

Well if I was Kevin Sorbo in a Kevin Sorbo vehicle, lets face it, youre screwed.
