I take inspiration from Heavy Metal and do it in that style of , rated R, I do a unique story set in the Forgotten Realms.
yeah Gygax was probably using the excuse of the movie to enjoy a lifestyle of Blackjack and Hookers.
All he needed were a bunch of cosplayers, Ray Harry Hausen and Bargle and he would have had a fine movie.![]()
mainly because it's difficult to get that many monkeys with typewritters in the same room.I think we are all in agreement on coke being critical.
Everything else is debatable.
In a way, I see parallels with the Halloween series, where the intention was to have it be an anthology series, but it became solely about Michael Myers (I am unabashedly a fan of Halloween III).They could have gotten anyone to be a new Terminator just based on the nature of the franchise, but they chose to opt for Arnold in lieu of a good script three times since T2.
I'm surprised that we've gotten this far about a movie made in the 80s and no one has mentioned ninjas yet. It would have to have ninjas. Especially since OA would have just come out.
Were they actually initially meant to be an anthology with a different killer in each movie? In a way, I see parallels with the Halloween series, where the intention was to have it be an anthology series, but it became solely about Michael Myers (I am unabashedly a fan of Halloween III).
Initially, it wasn't even supposed to be a franchise. Then the studio showed up with a lot of money for a Halloween II. When it came time for number three, I'll let John Carpenter speak for himself:Were they actually initially meant to be an anthology with a different killer in each movie?
Cool, never knew thisInitially, it wasn't even supposed to be a franchise. Then the studio showed up with a lot of money for a Halloween II. When it came time for number three, I'll let John Carpenter speak for himself:
"I thought, stupidly — this shows you how dumb I am — I thought that we were done with telling stories about Michael Myers and the guy in the mask. I thought there’s not much more to say. So we thought we’d come up with a new story every year. We could call it Halloween, but it didn’t have to do anything with Michael Myers."
Cannot say I share the disappointment, nor the opinion about the latter Wheel of Time books: I do not share the common opinion that there is really a "slump" as theybare excellent reads throughout, though it picks up near the end for sure. Knife of Dreams, the only one I have signed by Jordan and two copies of, is in my mind one of the best Fantasy novels ever written, he went our on a strong note and Sanderson successfully crossed the finish line.I remember picking up the Conan Chronicles after the first few WoT books came out (when they were still readable), and being very excited about one of my favourite authors doing one of my favourite characters.
I was disappointed, to say the least.
Interestingly, I was at a Q&A with RJ once, and he stated outright (I don't remember what the question was), "I don't do novelisations." Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to remind him of Conan the Destroyer.
