HP buys Voodoo PC!

This was outta left field for me ... although I guess I can see why they would do so, i.e. to be competitive with Dell after the latter bought Alienware.

I must say I am not surprised. Since Dell purchased a boutique gaming supplier Hp/Compaq needs one, too.

Dell bought Alienware (that's like McDonalds buying Olive Garden)? HP bought Voodoo?? Man, my first PC was an HP OEM. Never again, said I. My second was a tricked out Voodoo. What an awesome PC that was. Built my own for my new PC, using hardware from a Voodoo spec sheet. The cost was about 1/4 the Voodoo price. Still kinda sad though.

Does this mean Voodoo is leaving Calgary for San Jose?

Well, years ago McDonalds did purchase a chain of Mexican restaurants. It didn't work out.

And the same company that makes Kraft food makes Philip Morris cigarettes. I believe Kraft was recently "spun-off" out of the congolomorate.
