Of course, that's a bit of a red herring -- it wouldn't look much like that if the image weren't taken with a coronagraph, which blocks most of the image of the star in the center.

That's pretty cool. Hubble has give us some of the best images of our universe that we've ever gotten before. While this one is pretty tame except for the whole Sauron factor, the amount of breathtaking images from Hubble are staggering.

Pretty tame? No way! That's visual (albeit indirect) shots of an extrasolar planet right there. That's pretty heady stuff!

I was meaning pretty tame from a purely aestetic standpoint. Oh yeah, it's a very important image from a scientific standpoint.
