Humancentric World

Gellion

First Post
Has anybody here ever run a world where there was only humans? Im thinking of making such a world. The weird thing is some of the best fantasy worlds i have seen, have only had Humans. So has anybody done this before. I may not get rid of all the other demihuman races, but they will be uncommon at most. The ony exception is elves who are definitely not going to be in my world. They just dont fit for the world i have in mind.

Do you mean you're only allowing PCs to be humans, or do you mean there'll literally be no other races (including orcs, goblins, kobs, etc)?

IMC there are three PC races: humans, half-orcs, and spirit folk (sorta like half-elves, from OA). The bulk of the "civilised" population consists of humans; thus far, the PCs have only met a handful of spirit folk and one or two half-orcs. Plenty of orcs to kill, though. :)

There will be races like orcs, and goblins, but the only PC race will be Humans.

I find it funny that some of the best fantasy worlds i have seen only have Humans, as the main race.

I heard Harn was low magic, i dont like low magic.

Im also thinking of making this world infinitely large, meaning that it never ends, but that is a discussion for another time.

What ideas do you want? You wanna get rid of all the non-humans (demihumans) there's really nothing too much to be said about it. Just do it. What ideas did you have in mind?

Sepulchrave's storyhour is humanocentric. (Well... generally!)
definitely worth reading. and it's certainly not low-magic.
but it certainly works as a world. most of the prime is humans, although, that's not always where they are. but yeah. might wanna check it out, it's a very good story.

I admit that last post was just a glorified bump.

Im also thinking of removing the evil descriptor from all the spells that create undead.

What i was asking int his post was how have Humancentric worlds worked out for everybody here, if anybody has done one.
