[Humour]Sneak Cure

We know that cure spells work by touching the target, probably so you can touch the wounds and they're healed. And sneak attack will let you target the most vital and vulnerable parts. So, if you use a touch to deliver healing spells, will you get sneak attack bonus dice? So the Clr 1 /Rog 1 heals 1d8+1+1d6 with his cure light wounds?

that would actaully make a very interesting rogue cleric prestige class

I can already picture it. The hard part will be to get into situations where you can sneak attack your patients.

"Look, over there, a priestess of Sharess?"
"What? Where?"
*heals patient*

Flannis, bleeding from several serious wounds, suddenly found himself flanked by two shady looking guys, both threatening him with a holy symbol. One of them lunged, and he could barely evade being touched by his hand, doubtless possessed of very dangerous infernal magic. Too late he realized his mistake: It was a ruse. While he concentrated on one, the other acted. Flannis felt the stranger's hand on his neck - and all his wounds closed. The two strangers threw back their hoods and opened their cloaks, revealing noble faces and the unmistakeable garments of clerics of the Morninglord.

"There! That one's hurt! Quickly, get him! Good! Now, hold him down so I can heal him properly."

Xraros didn't trust this Vhaeraunan "healer", but he really had no chance, he was bleeding from several wicked wounds and would need help quick. The drow cleric started his spellcasting - but why wasn't he holding his hands to the wounds? A trap! Too late! Xraros felt his muscled stiffen as paralysis took hold of him. With an evil grin, the Darkmask drew his staff of healing and advanced on the helpless Xraros.

"I'm bleeding. CLERIC! Come here quick, I'm almost dead."
"Nah, I'm waiting till you drop to below 0 HP, then you're helpless and I can Coup-de-grace you with a healing spell."

You think that's something? That's nothing! My cleric, without even a level of rogue, regularly ties up his companions so he can perform a healing coup de grace: they have to make a fort save or be healed of all their damage!

Edit: Dangit, how'd I miss the last line of the post immediately previous to mine? I was pwned.

You only get to sneak attack with a spell that a/ has an attack roll, and b/ deals damage. Cure Light Wounds, as a touch spell, has an attack roll... but it only deals damage against undead.

So in theory, you can sneak attack with a CLW against undead...

... except that undead can't be sneak attacked.

However - there's a spell in Complete Adventurer - Gravestrike, from memory - that allows sneak attacks against undead for one round.

So with that spell active, you could indeed sneak attack an undead creature with a healing spell.

Against ordinary creatures, you could sneak attack with a healing spell if you deliver it with an unarmed strike... though, strictly, that's a sneak attack with the unarmed strike, not the spell.

Yes, yes.
