D&D General An At-Will Warlock, Warlock’s Curse, and an Idiosyncratic Recharge Idea

I would love to see Warlocks with a rebalanced at-will Hex plus pact boons for when a hexed target is killed or defeated. It's one of those times when story and mechanics really link up, making the warlock player feel like they're serving their patron by sending them souls or killing their enemies.
Yes. 100%. The 4e Warlock was so good for this.

Quick calculations.

Level 5
Eldritch Blast deals 2d10+8 = 19* .6 = 11.4
Magic Missile 3d4+3 = 10.4
Burning Hands 3d6 = 10.5 * .75 = 7.875

So a level 5 warlock casting level 1 damage spells at-will (not healing Word or Command), seems fine.
Yeah with a curated enough list it can work.

And rituals. I don’t care how attached some are to the idea that the Warlock is basically Spawn where 100% the power is directly from the Patron and the warlock doesn’t know anything on their own, to me the Warlcok will always be the delver into magics forbidden and transgressive, better left buried, and a thief of power, the arcane Rogue, not an aftermarket sorcerer.

Which means ritual magic. The Wizard is a scientist, Alastair Crowley is a Warlock.

So curse, the moral question of every defeated foe feeding power to your patron in exchange for a power boost for you, ritual magic, and weird magic that doesn’t follow the rules (at-will leveled spells).
