Hybrid Character Concepts

What are some interesting hybrid characters you can think of? I'm not looking into concepts that are specifically optimized combos or even ones involving classes that have a previewed hybrid class entry, just interesting ideas for hybrid characters. Some that I can think of are:

Haunted One (Telekinetic Psion/Stalker Shaman) - As a child you were blessed and cursed with the attention of enigmatic entities that followed you everywhere. It seems as if someone was always watching out for you, as misfortune always seemed to come to those who meant you the even slightest harm. Thus it seemed that you were a cursed, and you were shunned by others lest your curse claim their lives in an unfortunate accident. Your moods seemed to bring ruin with you as inanimate objects seemed to take a life of their own, but you knew in your heart you were never alone. One day someone came forward to you and revealed he was always there with you, watching you, always unseen and he became your constant companion at your call teaching you the secrets of controlling the world around you.

Arcane Strategist (Wizard/Warlord) - You always enjoyed games, games of strategy, games that tested your wits and knowledge. Always a curious one, you pried the the very workings of reality. For you it was all about the challenge and the ability to manipulate the rules you mastered. You knew the secrets and you knew the inner workings of things, you knew that only greatness could be destined for you. It was only natural that you came to study at a prestigious war academy. But as you were studying military tactics and warfare, you realized just how limited such things were. Drawing upon your early ventures into nature of reality, you soon found yourself drawn towards learning the arcane itself as one of your avenues of the game you play yourself against fate.

Tiefling Fey Knight (Warlock/Paladin) - You weren't born of the fey and had no connection to Feywild as a Tiefling. You traveled far and wide seeking the kingdom of the Fey Lords of deception as you knew they possessed a power more subtle and effective than the lords of the Hells that your ancestors sold their souls to. After years of wandering you fell into Feywild, among the courts of Autumn and Winter. The lords of the fey saw great potential in one as you as a guest among their courts, learning their arts of war and arcane secrets it was as if you became one of them. Being a part of courtly intrigues among the fey, you began to seek the guidance of the ancient deities that the Fey worship, and in turn they chose an outsider such as you to be their champion.

I really like the barbarian/sorcerer hybrid, both in mechanics and flavor. The idea of such massive amounts of physical, primal and arcane power contained in such a comparatively fragile character seems really cool. The hero (almost certainly a dragonborn) ferociously cuts down enemies left and right with a massive axe, but he is surrounded and disappears among the mob... until he lets loose a mighty blast of magic and starts obliterating foes with the raw, untempered elemental forces within.

It fits right in with the the description of the sorcerer as a kind of "arcane barbarian." I can see such a character leading a primitive tribe of dragonborn, strengthened by the spirits of his ancestors and empowered by the blood of dragons.

I like the idea of Druid hybrids quite a bit. In particular, an Avenger of Selune who has received the ability to take on a wolf form to better conceal his/her movements or a Beastmaster Ranger who polymorphs into another version of his/her animal companion.

The Order of Bjornaer (Wizard/Druid)

An order of (primarily) Wizards who dedicate their lives to the classification and study of flora and fauna. To better understand their field they have adapted their Arts to transmute their own bodies and learn to channel new sources of magical energy.

The feral half-orc gutter rat - rogue/barbarian TWF. Knife for sneak attacks and a big one-hander when CA is not available.

Stats up very nicely as well.

PS

Lazerfish, I actually liked the concept of the Rage Mage prestige class back in 3e. It makes a good idea in 4e now that the Sorcerer is different.

Mystical Bandit (Rogue/Monk) - As a young child you were trained in a monastery learning the disciplines of martial arts instead of doing what most children did, you extensively trained with the Jian Rapier. But you found the life as a Monk was not for you. When your homeland came under attack you took to the hills. It was soon that you found kinship among a band of thieves and raiders making a desperate living across the countryside and cities, robbing from those you brought harm to your homeland, with you becoming one of their most notorious key members.

Animal Forms Specialist (Monk/Druid) - It was from nature that many of the forms of martial arts came to be. From animals like the dragon, tiger, snake, leopard and crane, the ways in which they hunted or defended themselves served as inspiration for many different forms. For an adept like you, you decided to go closer to the source of your martial arts styles, be taking on the mindsets of such animals, guided by those 5 animal spirits. When you fight you not only fight as the tiger, you also become a tiger.

Discredited Inventor (Artificer/Barbarian) - Always the diligent inventor and engineer that you were, you always prided yourself in your work. You understood the interactions of formulas and how elemental spirits can best be utilized for devices. You knew how they worked, in that it was easy for you to get in the mindset of such spirits. Unfortunately you were disgraced for one of your greatest projects that was supposed to be yours, it was sabotaged by a rival of yours. It left you discredited throughout your entire career, damaging any chance of have of a valuable commission. Learning how your arch-rival stole your ideas and is using it for wrong, it's time for you to strike back.

Divine Emissary (Cleric | Invoker): playing one of these right now. Investigator and diplomat when times are calm, leading and healing those that deserve it, and capable of calling down the wrath of his god on the unworthy. Also works quite well statwise - while charisma has become more important for devoted clerics with DP, they can still run very well on wisdom alone.

Being seriously unhinged (which my character is) is optional.

I also really like the idea of the Barbarian Sorceror. Don't forget that there's also a Paragon Path that is like the 3e Rage Mage. Seems fun.
I need to spend more time with the Hybrid rules to get a feel for what you can do with them.
