Hydra question (2003 thread)

nsidering the thread never truly concluded which interpretation of the Feats: A hydra’s Combat Reflexes feat allows it to use all of its heads for attacks of opportunity. is correct, the thread merits further discussion and a bump was well applied. Most boards consider it proper etiquette to search for old topics before making new ones. Since dabbling in necromancy is fun to me, I might be slightly biased.

Has Wotc's sage or faq said anything on this yet? I am of the opinion the all the heads at once should be reserved for rules lawyers and number crunchers. :]

From the way i picture it, unless it is possible to prevent the creature from reaching the party, Hydra should fought in the tightest spaces the casters can still get LOS in. This way the tanks can make defensive formations that prevent a hydra from moving where it can attack who it wants to or using a bull rush so the rest of the heads can bite at the soft targets.
