I can't log out! Help!

sniffles

First Post
Since last Friday each time I try to log out I return to find that I'm still logged in. I follow my normal procedure for logging out: I click the 'log out' link, get the popup asking me if I really want to log out, and click okay. Then I get the vBulletin message that all my cookies have been cleared. But if I then close my browser and re-open it, I'm still logged in. Even if I restart my PC I'm still logged in.

This is a problem for me as I'm usually logged in from work and my employer monitors Internet usage. :(

You have to delete your Enworld cookies, I suspect. I had the same problem a few days ago, and that helped.
When I normally log out I get a message from vBulletin that says my cookies have been cleared. I also went into my browser tools and deleted cookies. It didn't help. :\

[edit] I tried deleting cookies again and it worked this time. I don't know why it didn't work before, but at least I've found a solution. :)

Mods, you can close this thread. Thanks for your help, Knight Otu!

Probably shouldn't close it in case others have the same problem.

What happened was that previously, cookies for en world were stored on your pc as "www.enworld.org". The problem was that if people made links to the site as "enworld.org" (without the www.) people were getting logged off. The same was going on at the EN World GameStore, which was presenting problems for people concerned about security. Now I have it stored as "enworld.org" so any sub-domain you visit on the site keeps your cookie info. No idea why this doesn't let you log off, though - clearing cookies does the trick.

A husband and wife, friends of mine, are both very recent EN Worlders. She has recently been complaining that she hasn't been able to get him logged off, which in turn means that she hasn't been able to log on to post. They've tried logging him out repeatedly, turning off their computer, and I believe she told me two days ago that deleting cookies didn't work either. I will re-confirm with her whether they manually dumped their cookies. If they have been deleting cookies via Microsoft IE, is there any other workable solution that you know of?
