Andrew D. Gable said:I could be mistaken, but the story of Aladdin is actually Chinese, I think... and Aladdin himself was supposed to be. As I hear it. So...hey.

Even so, Sinbad is not, and neither is the name Aladdin. So, what, he's gonna sail to China? Through the Taklamakan desert, or around India and Indonesia? While the second one is certainly possible, it seems pretty far out of the way. Not only that, Han culture developed on the Yellow River and only gradually spread south and east. Anywhere near any coasts will be the periphery of China during any Sinbad-ish time period.reveal said:This article seems to agree with you.

I dunno. The whole thing sounds pretty far-fetched.
Well, true, but I still don't see what the point of going to China is, except to make it into essentially a kung fu movie.reveal said:Yes. Gawd forbid they make a far fetched movie about Sinbad. That would be almost... entertaining!![]()
Granted, but there are a lot of pleasant-looking people in Hollywood. Some of them can even act.Mystery Man said:One is quite a bit more pleasing to look at than the other however.

And if they're gonna do that, they shoulda cast someone besides Keanu Reeves. He isn't exactly convincing as a kung fu guy, although he certainly tries to be. :\
