I feel dirty for asking, but...

hey, at least Nimoy has a halfway decent singing voice. if you really want to shred the last of your sanity, track down William Shatner singing "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" or "Mr. Tambourine Man."
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds was kind of part of my childhood or adolescence... not the great music but I remember it... in fact all I remember I the title part...

Byt the way I am feeling evil... BUMP!

Yes, but do you remember the original version by the Beatles, or the William Shatner nightmare remake?

Há... so is life... that must be the one... never liked it much! Prefer other musics from them...

There is actually a mock that rivals spock's bilbo ballad?

The Lords of the Rhymes may be just as twisted as Nimoy, but they do know their Tolkein.

As such things go, that wasn't too bad.

After finding this nugget on their website,

And let me also take this opportunity to say "*edited for Eric's Grandma*" to Blender Magazine, who came to our video shoot and interviewed us on two separate occasions for their "wierd band alert," but then refused to run the story because they felt we were not grounded in reality. We dress like hobbits and rap! what kind of reality did you expect to find?!

I can honestly say that I liked it. :D It's the sort of silly thing I can send to my friends without them hating me. (I'd send the BoBB, but I want them to continue speaking to me)

Yeah.... You know something, I'm not sure what the worst thing about that was. Leonard Nemoy singing, the lyrics and melody of that song, or the dancing of the girls in sweatshirts and elf ears.

What a piece of campy '70s crap. And people still have the gall to make fun of the '80s?

YES! Lords of the Rhymes! anything that points more people to Q-Beam and B-Dill is great. I have to make sure this thread sticks around, so that more people can see some good ol' hobbit rap.

Hey, you all are picking on an absolutely delightful piece of (unintended) dementia. As far as TV star, misguided singing careers go, Nimoy's is at least entertaining. The song and video may be pure cheese, but the song's actually kind of clever and catchy in its own way.
And I OWN a copy of William Shatner's Transformed Man concept album. It's divided up into juxtapositional pairs of tracks, mostly of spoken word performance (which explains the style of delivery for both Lucy in the Sky and Mr. Tambourine Man). They cover themes of war/peace, reality/surreality, and so on. Very much a product of its era. And even though also quite cheesy, I find it a hoot to listen to.

For those of you into other bits of gamer/fan-boy directed dementia, check out Deal Ale-Wives and the Great Luke Ski.

what's the link/description for the great luke ski?

and i wonder if I can attach the Shatner Lucy wav...
nope. board login problems don't allow me to post attachments. :(
