I always play unusual characters.....like my rogue1/monk9 thats a historian. Or my dwarven sorceror (no explanation needed). Linguist fighter. Undead fighting rogue. You can always do something like that. Go for "out there". Or make a character that is combat-effective, but not centered around it. Most people play monks(that ive seen) as mostly combat-centered. Mine isnt. Hes skills focused. if you have a good imagination, or some good inspirations, you can come up with anything.

I wanted to thank everyone for their support. I've given a lot of the thought to thinks people have posted here. And I think I'll just embrace the new found strangeness rather then question it.

Felix - that sounds fantastic. It sounds like your DM recognised all the faults of the forsaker and took steps to fix them, creating a viable PC class that has none of the problems I mentioned.

I'd assumed that when you said 'forsaker', you meant 'unmodified MoTW forsaker'.

Sometimes I think character design is like game systems: Too many you want to play RIGHT NOW!!! (:

One thought: Create a buncha characters, and ask the other players and the DM which they'd prefer!
