There was a D&D Insurance down in Miami. Don't know if it is still there.

So if my sword is sundered by the evil Blackguard, they get me a new one? Or do they pay for the True Res?

I mean, that's life insurance like you'd get it in D&D: "If you die, we bring you back!". Of course, there'd be different services: Raise dead, Resurrection, True Res. And animate dead if you don't pay your bills. :]

I wonder how much that would cost for an adventurer per month. For an NPC? Named one? Unnamed one? "How far away is the next encounter site, mister Generic Baker?"

D&D: "I'm not dead yet!"

We have "D&D Distributions" warehouses all over town here. No, they don't have skids full of , miniatures and dice. I think it's appliances and cinderblocks.

Ha. I'm originally from New Brunswick myself... and from personal experience, there seems to be a lot of dying people there. Every year, my grandma calls with a list of about ten people that have died. It's... strange.

The East Coast scares me, man. I mean, seriously.

From what I've read, the issue is that many younger people from that part of Canada move away, leaving the older residents behind. And, the older you are, the more likely you are to die.

And, I would imagine that most of the people in your grandma's social circle are older to begin with, so it's not surprising that she knows all these people who've passed away.

It's perfectly natural, just so long as D&D Removal Services isn't delivering the bodies of deceased Nova Scotians to a necromancer. :)

What, not one joke about how this is evidence the gaming industry is dying? I'm disappointed. :(

It has been dead for a long time. It's just that no one called D&D Removal Services to do their work.

"Yes, the Jones died last week. They're coming over for tea at 2..."

And there's an idea for an adventure, right there.

I think I'd have to build in the natural good-naturedness of Canadians, too. "Oh, sure, the Joneses are wights now, but they're still very nice folks. Here, dear, have another cruller." ;)
