Nothing really further to add I guess. Been craving the nostalgia of the early ODnD days. Ive had the ESD for a while, and been looking for the hardcover book. Finally got it. Nice to see the map of the Known World in all its glory.

Now all I need is a ODnD friendly group :)

I remember back when I was just starting to learn about D&D...I thought the Rules Cyclopedia was the be-all end-all of D&D pretty much...then I read the part on converting between that and AD&D...it was great...*nostalgic sigh*

I've got a copy in my garage, next to all my Birthright stuff and a virtually complete set of James Bond 007 RPG and a load of Villians and Vigilantes stuff.

OD&D game

This is amazing Daiymo! This is your Rokugan DM posting here.

I have been lugging around my Rules Cyclopedia for weeks now, looking over the old classic rules and getting ready to run a game with an old OD&D store-bought adventure.

I was going to have everyone use the pre-generated characters in the back because the adventure is for character levels 15-20.

I thought it might be a great way to play classic D&D and just enjoy the GAME of D&D first - before I considered getting in or running a long-term OD&D game.

Pregen characters, old/authentic TSR adventure from the early 80's, definate beginning and end to it.

The game needs six PC's and I have the pre-gens and adventure ready to go!

Any one else?

I have the D&D Rules Cyclopedia. Basic D&D is my favorite version of D&D all-time.

Good luck trying to find players. Its one of the easiest rpgs to teach to newbies. One of the most DM-friendly rpgs ever made.:)

That is a very good game book, simple-fun complete. One small binder of rules add ons and you have years and years of gaming ahead of you.

If you want more OD&D info or just to hang out with grognards drop by here http://www.dragonsfoot.org/

The website is great and has all the "swag" links
