Rune,

If I ever misuse a word on our project please be gentle and let me know about it... and whatever you do don't lay the linguistic smackdown on me in your dreams... do it on the project page ;-)

Strangely enough for my particular specialization, I rarely ever remember my dreams. This one was an oddity.

PS: I just finished the rough draft of those skills I've been working on and should be posting them shortly... after this post perhaps...

I had a dream last night where I was going back to high school, incognito. See, apparently at this high school in the dream world, you learn magic, and become a 20th level wizard by the time you graduate. Since I already graduated, I already knew magic....

and had multiclassed into a priest of Bane....

and now I was going to take down this place from the inside!

Muwahahaha!!!

Okay, yeah, the dream didn't make much sense. But I did get some nifty black robes.

As memory slowly seeps its way back into my head, I think that the fan may actually have been nitpicking about the plural of dwarf; his assertion, I believe, was that it is actually dwarfs, according to Tolkien's edition of the OED, anyway.

If this version is the accurate one, my thoughts above are certainly not valid, because "dwarfs" and the now-pretty-much-widely-accepted "dwarves" do have the same meaning.

I can only speculate that Tolkien used "dwarves" because that's the way the word should have been written in the first place.

What can I say? It was a dream.

Incidentally, the fact that I can't specifically recall any usage of the word "dwarven" in The Lord of the Rings, at any rate, lends creedence to my suspicion that I got the story wrong in my dream.

So, basically, not only am I a wise*** in my dreams, I'm also a widely inaccurate one. I'm such a pompous jerk!

Ow I had that dream about a dozen times where I was a 20th level psion with the nifty psychoportation, telepathy and seeer powers :D

Wouldn't that be great... :p Éveryone would love that. Being the only overpowered munchkin heavily powerpoint packing psion on the world!!!!!

This is sort of random, but whenever I play one computer game a lot, all my dreams will be in the format of that computer game, no matter what I'm playing.

If it's been Counter-Strike, I'll have crosshairs and a little health indicater in the corner of my vision, and I'll die a lot and go back a little. If I've been playing Diablo II, then I run around with a top down view hitting little dudes.

The wierdest is when I play a flightsim, because nothing creeps me out more than a console and HUD popping up, and then "Target aquired, Hellfires away!"

Just random thoughts, my brother thinks I'm crazy because of this.

Man, I hate it when I dream Tetris.

Sorry, I was referring to Shakespear's propensity to make up words, in general-- not that particular word.

Heh. Ever heard of Gaudere's Law? It states that in any message board post where you criticize someone's grammar/punctuation/spelling, you're bound to make an egregious goof yourself.

Thanks for confirming the rule!

(Its wise, of course, to make a deliberate sacrifice to Gaudere in such posts, and in such a way that you're audience knows your doing it on purpose.)
