Actually, if they seem to be doing so well against currently constructed encounters and villains, up the ante a bit. Be prepared to fudge in their favor until you've dialed it back down to a fair challenge for them but current conditions don't seem to be enough to make the game fun for them. I can't imagine they enjoy short fights with weak villains.

He was kind of asking for it.

First he has the wizard cast Bull's Strength on me, then proceeds to have this villain who's name happened to be Vincent slash his way towards a crown of terrified parishners towards me. Now being one to tolerate the senseless slaughter of innocents (even if they ARE human), I charge the bastard, wielding Stormbrand two-handed(1.5X strength bonus to damage, YEAH!) to mercilessly slaughter this guy. So i get a critical hit, roll med-high damage, and he either fails his save to prevent his soul from being sucked out or I simply take him down by dealing him 46 damage by putting my sword through his chest.

Mind you he DID give me a nasty slice to the throat on his way down, but that's nothing a wand of cure light wounds and a cleric couldn't fix.

But doesn't seem like he was BEGGING for me to take this guy down?

Your threats fall upon deaf ears, childe, as does the begging that is implied by same. You have nothing left to look forward to with your current characters but the footnote they will be represented by under a vast chart of statistics. Did you forget the understood clause for DMs that allow them to rewrite the lineage of all ineffectual villains to create their vendetta-hungry siblings? It remains only for you to decide what you would like on your toast...

Seems like Angcuru doesn't seem to take notice that blackshirt doesn't like metagaming especially from DMs. He even said he wouldn't be an @$$ and metagame by not having his npc mage not buff anyone in our group. Besides, everything involving combat is decided by a roll of a d20. Just so happened we got lucky and critted our enimies (which is always fun ).
