I Hate Spam

Abraxas

OK, a simple question. How come I get sapm emails that don't seem to use my email address?
They aren't to me @ domain.net
How can I generically filter all of these - other than switching to something other than OE (cause I just don't feel like using something else right at the moment).

Use a mailer with a decent, trainable spam filter, but that doesn't seem to be an option for you (which you really should consider... Outlook Express is very, very bad - among the top ten "how to make windows more secure" tips you'll usually find... Don't use Internet Explorer & Don't use Outlook Express ;)).

Ya know, I knew someone would say that. :)

So what's out there for email that you guys recommend.

On a separate note
I've already tried opera for a browser - and disliked it. I have just downloaded firefox and am going to try it.

My spam solution is called MailWasher Pro. I have it checking on my five e-mail accounts, including AOL, Hotmail, and Yahoo (had to upgrade from the free one, but it's worth it to me), as well as my two "normal" ISP accounts.

Once you blacklist a sender, it doesn't matter who the mail is sent to, it is automatically "bounced" back, as if the e-mail account is no longer valid. :]

FWIW....

Do a Google for SpamBayes...it's a learning spam filter that works as a plug-in for Outhouse (and Outhouse Express). If you have large piles of pre-sorted "good" and "bad" emails for it to look at, it starts working well immediately.
