I have just seen Underworld

Kraven definitely, but I thought Michael wasn't too bad. It wasn't exactly a very inspiring role (yay, let's turn into a Nightcrawler-lookalike for the last ten minutes of the movie, and STILL get my butt kicked), but he was likeable enough.[/b]
Yeah, that could be it.

Certainly Lucien was pretty good, and I thought Selene was as well. Although I may be biased on account of the black vinyl.

Viktor wasn't bad either.

I thought Viktor, Selene and Lucien pretty much saved the movie -- if everyone had been like the unfortunate lad playing Kraven things could have gotten ugly.

Sort of like if everyone in Blade II had been like whatsername the girl, it would have been unbearable.

I really give props to actors who'll throw down for an action movie and not just coast through it -- an action film (or a thriller or whatever) really NEEDS good acting in order to make the action MATTER to the audience. Otherwise, you might as well be watching figure skating.

One of the many things that makes Jackie Chan such a genius is that not only can he do those things, but he can do them AND deliver a real performance that sells it for you. When he gets hit, the whole audience winces -- that's a kind of acting, for sure.

Doesn't win Oscars but then look who wins Oscars...
