Excluse me, this is just the sort of exclusive exclusivity that makes enworld (i.e. exclusive news world) my destination for d&d-related exclusives.

Nice slow tease and reveal, Morrus. have you considered a career in burlesque.

Burlesque Tarrasque... ?

So no more super regeneration. It is now as killable as everything else in the game. At least escaping swallow now makes more sense than drilling your way out in 3E.

Interesting that after the immunity scare in 4E they bring back weapon immunities from 2E.

I like the carapace.

On a 1-5, the creature is unafffected.
On a 6, it is unaffected, *and* it gets reflected back at you.

Merde

That's not a monster, that's a force of nature. If I understand the Challenge system correctly, and I'm not saying I do, you'd need a group of 7-10 level 20 adventurers to stand a chance against the Challenge 30 Tarrasque and, even then, it'd be a challenging, even deadly fight. Yikes.
I have to wonder about the Tarrasque vs. Ancient Red Dragon. If your character sees this going down, Start running and hope you can run fast enough to get out of range.

I'm not a fan of the whole "Legendary" thing.

It just doesn't make sense that it can act on someone else's turn. Everyone is already acting on everyone else's turn. Everyone acts simultaneously, and it is only the turn structure which makes it appear otherwise.

Depending on how 5E handles flying it is not all that bad. One just needs a way to keep flying, a magical ranged weapon, scrolls of Cone of Cold (unless that requires an attack roll now) or a huge pile of acid vials.

And I share Saelorn's dislike for the "special snowflake" legendary status. Its another unnecessary gameist attribute.
