So you get Agile Playboys, Gonzo Test Subjects, Caustic Doctors, etc.

That sounds really cool.

And it so trashes every department in every supplement I own. :/

Such is progress, eh?

From their web preview, they replaced Departments with a combo of "Talent" and "Specialty". Talent is what you're like, Specialty is what your background is before agency work.

Nice!

Huge improvement!

What you do is you visit this link and scroll down to the last post. Perform the Yoink! function a quick thanks to Morgenstern and you're done....

To the thread starter, could you please give a brief synopsis of the new way Spycraft 2.0 is handling proficiencies and what choosing fortes does for your proficiencies and focus skills.

Thanks!

Proficiencies are for weapons (gone are the weapon use feats that function as the base feat) that characters select, such as Explosives. As your character gains class levels, he qualifies for additional proficiencies. He may choose to sacrifice these additional proficiencies for forte with an existing proficiency. This grants him a +1 attack bonus with that weapon.

Focus skills (Culture, Driving, Profession, and Science) are so broad that players must specify one or more focuses when he acquires ranks in them. Players never gain ranks in a focus. He either has it or he doesn't. For example, at first level, a player automatically gains Culture with his focus being his homeland. Players gain additional focuses as they gain levels. Like proficiencies, players can choose to use that focus and turn it into a forte for an existing focus giving them a +1 skill bonus for that check.

The post linked above also includes a sample of psionic powers from the SFA Universe. The full spread of psionics AND a simple tool for bringing any department from 1.0 into play will be made available shortly after release :). Titans and Hybrids from Dark Inheritance are already up and running, and I've been asked to do full conversions of the Arcanist and Gnostic for the conversion appendix, so modern day spell-slingers will be along momentarily also :).

Not every supplement. It certainly replaces the core book and the class guides along with Gentlemen's Agreement and Paradigm Concepts' Most Wanted.

Still useable:
-Modern Arms Guide
-1960's Decade book
-Mastermind
-Agency (although not as much)
-Battlegrounds and the 2 military books (flavor mostly)
-Dark Inheritance (magic and flavor)

Question: How has 2.0 managed subplots and how are they related to Reputation/Notoriety ....

Trying so hard to be patient..want...book...now...aagghhh.
