I just heard this about the Transformers movie. (possible spoilers)

Back in 1990, I bought an Optimus Prime for my yet-to-be-born nephew (he's 15 now). The cab turned into Optimus, and the trailer turned into a battle station. But you could use both the cab and the trailer to make a BIG Optimus.

"I thought that after the original Prime died in the cartoon movie they moved his energy into a firetruck?"

He died in the Transformers animated movie, and gave the Leadership Matrix to Ultra Magnus, who could transform into one of those trucks that carry eight cars. Ultra Magnus eventually lost the Matrix to Galvatron (the reborn Megatron) and when Hot Rod regained it, he was transformed into Rodimus Prime.

Ahh, My Transformer-Fu is indeed weak. Thank you for the lesson.

... or at least something that's currently in production. I doubt Chevy would throw in marketing money for using a car they're not currently selling.
They're not selling a Camero while Ford is currently selling the latest Mustang model?!?!!!

What's the world coming to?

BTW, been meaning to ask... what other brands will they be using besides GM (Chevrolet, Hummer)?

I saw a picture on G4 showing a Ford mustang police cruiser. It was black and white, had a Decepticon symbol on the side, and the slogan was "To punish and enslave".

I thought the original police car was a Datsun/Nissan 280Z Autobot named Prowl. Were there any Decepticon police cars?

I think the only Dedcepticon cars were the construction crew that formed one big robot. Most of the Autobots were cars, except the dinosaurs ones

Well, there was Jetfire/Skyfire, but he was an ex-Decepticon, IIRC. And there was a least a short run of airplane Autobots that combined into a giant robot.

The Constructicons were the only Decepticon land vehicles for a long while.

We could be seeing a Prowl with opposite allegiances in the movie.

I wish they'd turn Soundwave into a rock-concert stage. That'd keep the music/sound motif and allow for him to be a giant robot with amplifiers in his legs. I wonder if Laserbeak would be an iPod these days... :)

Yet again my Fu is put to shame :(
