I just lost my dice bag, and this is a serious financial loss

I just lost my little bag of dice – which you may have discerned from the title, and I realized that the contents of that bag come to about $300. This is the remains of special dice, metallic dice, D100’s and others. I am such a gamer-freak.

Anyone else here have a similar experience, or owns RPG material that amount to an absurd amount of cash?

When I went of to college back in the early ninties I left a box of my first ediotn books and modules in my room. I had everything including the Dieties and demigods with Chtulu. In a twist of ironic proportions my mom accidently donated the box to the Church Flea market.

Over the past decade I've managed to get almsot everything again except that version of D&Dg.

a dice bag is a gamer's soul. i recall how "Dont touch my dice!!!" echoes through the gamer's bible, KoDT. a dicebag is a deeply emotional object... a storer of power, a bender of fate... these dice you have cultivated all these years determine whether you--- i mean your character, ya character... lives or dies.

it is a sad day when this sacred pouch is lost.

i feel for your loss...

Where was the last place you remember having it? That alway helps. Or just break down crying and your group will help you get a new set out of sheer pity. :)

While not RPG material, I finally escaped from Magic: The Gathering addiction last year. I was unemployed, and had to
sell the cards I had left in order to eat.

And as I parted with my huge collection for about 1.2k, I realized
that over the years, since 1994, I had sunk over 15 thousand dollars into little fistfulls of cards.

I almost cried.

My sympathies :(

I still feel the loss of my original dice, with the numbers so lovingly painted in to provide contrast, and half of the d10 painted a different color to simulate a d20.

I can still picture them, though I haven't actually seen them in over 12 years...

Wow...makes me happy I just have my half ripped Plastic dice bag with generic colored dice...yes I know...I blaspheme. Sorry to hear it man.

Which is why I got out shortly after Legends:
I saw the sucker-play that 2E was and decided not to be a part of it.

I liquidated my Legends stock for the combined amount that I put into everything.

And i still have the cards left, which I still like for the art. (and gaming, as long as people aren't into the tournament scene *spit* )

My real weakness is books. I am not even thirty yet but two rooms in my house, my office and our front room are dominated by books.

I am like the ancient who said, if I get some money I first buy books...
