I killed Drizzt

Well... It's about time!

Whether ya luv Drizzt or not, all things have come to an end...

Good thing too: could you imagine if he ascended to divinity? Ya know, became a God?

**shudder**

What killed him?

I would like to believe that a Halfling sneak attacked the back of his knee and then the human female Ranger he was fighting used the distraction to finish him off...

It would seem an appropriate death...

good job, you deserve a medal.

Cut his head off and do it in a bag of holding, if I'm not mistaken I think there is a nice price on his head in Menzo.

Good one Chain Lightning. But, there's no grassy knoll. :p

Perhaps it was the gassy Gnoll...?

In any event, best to Email the powers that be immediately. Maybe they can stop the presses on the next novel that was to feature him and move along to another storyline. *shrug*

Accursed Xaltar. You should not put such major spoilers for the Story Hour you DM without WARNINGS. But alas, it is too late now.

Well, first off, it's not surprising Drizzt died. He's built very badly, for a 3rd Edition character, and most 12th level PC Fighters I've seen could take him down without breaking a sweat. He's not very min-maxed at all, and I've always thought it was one of the amusing discrepancies between the novels and the actual game world.

As for whether or not Drizzt would want to be ressurected.... First, he'd probably make some long, self righteous and self glorifying speech about the experience, with his typical "I am better than thou" attitude, and when his friends ressurect/try to ressurect him, he'll decide "the world needs me, for who else can be so angsty and troubled yet so uber and godlike?" and come back to annoy us all yet again. ;)

He'd probably want to be ressurected, but I only say that because I believe most people would. Drizzt isn't a deep character, in fact most comic book characters have more well thought out motivations then him, so even people who have read a few of the books (like me) won't be able to give you any real definitive answer.

My best advice is to invent some real character and motivations for a NPC that never really had any in the first place, and decide yourself. Just treat him like a NPC you designed yourself, but never fully fleshed out.

You haven't probably read the same books as I, then. Drizzt may be annoying in his angst, but I doubt that he's shallow, at least as far as fantasy characters go. In the literary classic Lord of the Rings, for example, most of the heroes are left quite shallow. We never get to know the inner thinkings of any of the characters, except Sam and Frodo, perhaps. Aragorn remains quite mysterious to the end.

Drizzt can be rightly accused of many things, but I don't think shallowness is one of them.

Mmmmmmmm...

Damn, look at that...he was a Doppelganger all this time!

Hey, lets go to the drow to collect a reward! :)

Don't worry, he has been cloned! :)

Okay, I raid his body...how do we divide his stuff? :)

Thanks for the advice... I think :p

Anyway, I don't believe that this is too much of a spoiler for the group's Story Hour. It could easily be view as more of a Teaser Trailer.

I just wanted to know what feelings he would have expressed before he passed about ressurection. And then possibly make a trip down to the local bookstore this morning to protest the release of any future novels.

Thanks,
Xaltar
