I love Firefox!

Firefox, eh?

So no one else has had problems with using the Quote button with Firefox? I'm using Firefox on two different computers (work and home) and have the same problem on each.

Nope, no problems here. I use it on at least 4 different PCs, and never had a problem.

I found another reason to not use FireFox. For whatever reason, it doesn't play well with my tablet PC. Fields are just not showing up as being editable. Too bad, too. After downloading 1.0, I decided that it was, in fact, a signifacant improvement over 0.9. If I could get it to work with my pen, I'd probably give it a fair shake.

As for Trillian, I'm not real impressed by the latest release, either. I'm having problems with auto-connecting and it seems to be manhandling my power-management. Which is to say, I've had problems with the screen-saver not kicking in and the monitor not powering down, etc. since upgrading.

I love my Firefox browser. The extensions are great and I really like being able to open all tabs in a particular bookmarked folder quickly.

I must be missing something.

I installed Firefox on my Laptop.
It works.

But I'm not noticing any real performance difference between it and the IE browser on my Desktop.

The spyware thing is neat, but I run regular sweeps anyway. The difference between finding 8 things and 19 is nice but you still need to run the sweep so I'm not sure how my life is better.

I continue to use it, but I'm still waiting to be elated.

Are you using tabs for browsing? Have you installed any extensions? Extensions really let you customize Firefox into a browser that works the way you want it to work. Using tabs for browsing speeds up web surfing tremendously, as the browser doesn't need to load each time you want to open another page. Plus, in every test I've done (on multiple computers), Firefox opens pages 1-2 seconds faster than IE.

I like looking at an ENworld forum page and go down the page right-clicking on all the interesting topics and selecting "open link in new tab", then I've got an array of interesting articles I can work my way through. In IE you are either shuffling back and forward to the index (a real pain if on dial up) or opening in new foreground windows and obscuring work.

Plus the ability to bookmark all open tabs in a bookmark folder with one click (and open all the tabs in a bookmark folder later with one click too)...

... that is one of the things that makes Firefox a much better browsing experience for me.

Cheers

My friends and I discovered Firefox back in October, and none of us have looked back. I agree with people here that the extensions really make the difference. I like the interface (using the Noia Extreme theme), and the pop-up blocking.

The only things I use IE for are the few sites Firefox doesn't like (Windows Update, MSI Live Update, and an internal site we have at work that's developed around VB), and for compatibility checking.

As far as the bookmark system goes, I like it MUCH better than IE. I couldn't stand the way IE used individual files for each bookmark, and as such wouldn't allow you to use Windows restricted character (like colon), or create seperators. I've always liked the Netscape idea of a single bookmark file, and I find managing my bookmarks (of which I have thousands) is quite easy in Firefox.

I also like its address bar-search function. For example, if you type in 'google <searchword>' you will get a google search based on the <searchword>.

It also works with a lot of other search engines and online databases. I especially use it for IMDb. I searched for 'imdb mojo1701,' and I got Free Enterprise, one of my favourite movies (last dvd I bought, as a matter of fact).
