I made a terrible life decision…

That said, I'd still organize it the same way whether it's the 30-40 books I have now or the many hundreds I used to own:
  • Core rules on the right (as I'm right-handed)
Wait... I've just always thought it made logical sense (in English I read left to right, so...) to put the core books on the left. Core, supplements/expansion rules, settings, and then adventures. Now I'm questioning if this is just because I'm left handed.

Finally getting moved in. The organization is a loooong process. I should have done a much better job packing. Especially the minis. Organizing them is a bear...The letter trays from Ikea is a great idea though. They slide out, making access to the minis work well. Now I need to get the label maker out and label each tray with what's on them.

As an aside, years ago I have away 90% of my gaming collection. Regretted it for awhile, but after this move, I'm not regretting it now lol.

Love that your collection is so vast that it has its own guard dog!

I am right handed but I would organize a shelf of gaming books the same way, starting with general books at the left and proceeding right towards the more specific.

My rpg collection... The pile of books on the floor I normally store in front of the shelf. One of the reasons the PHB 3.5 and DMG isn't in the shelf with the others is one of my two complaints of Drivethroughrpg: the books are about 1 cm taller than the other D&D-books, and thus can't fit on the shelf (why the hell weren't they in the same format). The other complaint is that it was not available in premium print, so all the pages look faded. Cheapskates...

The other reason they are not in the shelf is that we play a D&D 3.5-game every second Sunday, so I need them..

And then a Kallax shelf with half of my boardgames.

Edit: when you have a small apartment and too much stuff, you have to make some sacrifices for order and stuff things where er they fit.

Beautiful collection.

I've had to downsize mine a few times now to keep it contained in just one room, so had to let a lot go unfortunately. I think my new rule is if I ever upgrade to a new edition: 1) If it's actually different, I can only keep the old core books. 2) If it's just an update, then get rid of the old edition. My one exception is 3E because it had so many wonderfully written campaign/source books.

Also, I still play my copy of Battlestar Gallicta! The boardgame is actually what got me into the show, haha.
