I made my PCs into action figures!

I love this idea, although the action-figure implementation is a little too modern for my own game. I try to do similar things. In a recent game a PC passed a bunch of street kids, playing and arguing who got to be which of the PCs.

I think it left a strong impression.
Dolls with hinges representing knights and princesses date all the way back to Ancient Rome. Add in Eberron's (and general D&D's) level of craftsmanship (often magical) and an "action figure" of sorts is certainly possible (maybe all it an "adventurer simulacrum").

Here's an Ancient Greek ivory doll, BTW:

I retract my objection. Nice example, Claudio!

Awesome and a fantastic picture. The figures in my campaign were more like these, wooden and painted with no magical features. Just top notch Sylvan Elf craftmanship. :D

I once had the PCs come back to town to discover that their exploits, somewhat distorted, had been turned into the equivalent of dime novels. With not neccesarilly the most flattering depicitions of them in it. They were to busy and never bothered tracking down the source.

We had pretty much the exact same thing in our Al-Quadim campaign. The PC's were in a band (The Djovial Djins) and sold action figures, t-shirts etc. They also had the equivalent of a Saturday morning cartoon which showed their exploits, including making fun of their boy band rivals.

Nice! Reminds me of stuff that usually happens in Brisco County Jr :D

I've had players time travel to the future of their campaign world. They arrived in the equivalent of the late 80s - early 90s. They encountered Drow fashion models, Orcish rappers, and crusty Dwarven cabbies. They also saw a movie based on their legendary adventures. The real PCs were a bunch of lying, cheating, stealing, murderous semi-bandits, but their movie selves were paragons of virtue who were held up as heroes for children. Their movie incarnations were also much better looking than the real PCs, naturally.

If something like that happened in a game I was playing in, Seattle would be a crater from the thermonuclear explosion that would occur from my head exploding in sheer delight.
