I must be the only crazy person here....

I must be completely mad.

I think Sword & Fist is mostly fine, especially post-errata.

I liked MM2, though I haven't had cause to use many critters out of it. But then, our campaigns are as yet <10th level.

I thought Dragon 300 was okay.

I don't have any problems with gnomes.

I do think their favored class is a little weak, since it requires school specialization. I was thinking about just making it "wizard". I also find Dinkledog's idea (favored class: druid) intriguing, and wish to subscribe to his newsletter. But I still want to play a gnome barbarian/fighter. :)

Our group is starting a new campaign soon, and I plan to run a gnome rogue. Not just a run-of-the-mill rogue tho. His name first off is Samhill Gareston Mahogony Treefawn Reconi Herosi Jounista Duckrider Grader Miller Kilson Tillson Grander Verboden....er, sorry, but anyway...

He isn't the cleanest of fellows, usually dirty and unkempt with aspirations to be a tinkerer, and enjoys using ranged weapons, daggers, darts, etc. But his favorite will be a pair of hand crossbows, one in each hand to start each combat round.
Hidden in his unruly hair is a couple lockpicks, with tools scattered throughout his many pockets on his patchwork clothing, and hidden throughout his clothing is several darts and daggers.

His curiosity on how things work gets him into a lot of trouble, usually after he pulls it apart, and can't figure out how to put it back together. Mmmh, now how does this gate close, ahah, oh oh, we did want to leave didn't we....

The most powerful character? Nope. The scariest? Nope. The most dangerous? Nope. The most interesting, humorous and compelling character I've run...Yep!

Gnomes as they in the book seem quiet, insignificant, boring. Oh but the possibilities that boring little fellow can have...hehe

I think Sword and Fist is kind of nice book, some prestige classes were quite good. My favourite splat book from WotC is Defenders of Faint though. I use post errata version of Sword and Fist, btw.

I love Monster Manual 2, I based my current campaing around it.

I hate gnomes too. Especially those tech-tinkering ones I've seen since Dragonlance in almost every damn world (Except for Scarn, oh I love that world).

I am not called crazy, most people call me very chaotic personality.
Except those that don't ever use such words. They just call impulsive and hard to understand. ;)

Oh, yes, Dragon 300.
Well, new spells remained me from Alien vr. Predator computer game. Especially that "...blah, blah.. and then the demonic offsping tries to kill it's 'mother' "

Basicly I think most of Vile Darness is pretty lame. Especially feats, spells with disadvantage (most of which are no less evil than good old PHB spells, but have such more vivid describtion, ever tried to describe how Horrid Wilting really feels and appears?). Oh, and non-epic demon lord stats. Oh, come on, what would be more fun, than to kick demon-lord butt for 'epic' characters, but now they are too lame for such game. Instead we have some boring non-scribt alien abominations. Boooring.

I thought that bordello module had about silliest names for everything I seen outsider Runequest monster book.
Oh, and I stole the idea of polymorphed hookers for my game.

I laughed a lot. It was funny reading.

An old thread accidentally bumped? I care not, I wish postcount :)

[All IMHO]

Sword and Fist was pretty good. Most of the PrCs were well designed, the combat options were good, some of the weapons were interesting. The less said about the Halfling Outrider and it's BAB [what was the quote? "It's not meant to have a BAB progression, it's not a combat class"], or the mercurial weapons, or the bladed gauntlet (17-20 crit, okat it was errataed), the better. Defenders of the Faith, on the otherhand, is a book I'm tempted to take the Stick of Pain to players for trying to use some of the stuff out of it. Hospitalier, Master of Shrouds and the armour of speed come to mind. Templar, Warpriest and a few of the other PrCs, and the 3E versions of Recitation and Righteous Wrath of the Faithful were good, but the whole thig stunk of bad playtesting or shoddy editing.

MM2 isn't that bad. Most of the critters are good and fun to use, though the desmodu fetishism is a waste of the paper it's printed on.

Gnomes aren't too bad. Up until a few days ago, I honestly didn't know what to do with them in my homebrew world*, but know I think I can get to like them. IMC they're essentially LotR Hobbits crossed with tinker gnomes. Good-natured homebodies with their little workshop out in the shed.

BoVD and Dragon#300. I can understand the controversy, but most of the material isn't too bad, and it's very useful for showing how truely despicable the villain can be. My own complaint is with the spell searing seed. Very, very nasty spell (not the damage etc, the conotations) and after using it in game, I realised I'm never going to use it with a female player in the group.

Down with gnome haters! What isn't there to like about gnomes and halflings? Must be the mentality of it. All the real role players can handle the wee races, and ye of little faith (i.e., those who don't like gnomes) haven't the skill nor balls to take on running one. Of course, I'm probably clinically insane or something, and have the mentality of a gnome (probably a tinker gnome, too...I'm always making things that don't work, rarely violently, though) So maybe thats why I like them...one of the 3 characters I'm currently running in various games is a Gnomish Paladin, and one of the other 2 is a Halfling Fighter. Booya. Yay gnomes! Oh, and me nor any of my friends have ever subscribed to Dragon, so I have no clue if any of them are good or not...and the only issues I have with MM2 is that...how many fricken monsters can one planet hold? I mean...come on! Theres like 15 types of dragons...unless I'm mistaken, Greyhawk is somewhere in the general vicinity of the size of earth...how many massive lizards can one planet hold?
