I need a one-shot!

Wormwood

Adventurer
I got roped into running a one-shot game this coming Thursday. I'm presently planning on just ripping off part of "Fane of the Drow" for a few battles royale, but I would love to hear any suggestions y'all may have.

Game system: D&D 3.5
Players: 5 (one of whom is a relative newbie to 3.5)
Game length: Under 4 hours
Game Type: Let's just say we will be drinking, so I doubt we could handle a great deal of plot.
Price Range: I'm willing to blow a couple of bucks on a PDF, but I'd rather not. If you have an issue of Dungeon you would like to recommend, I have a buddy with just about every issue.

Thanks!

try some of the adventures on wizards.com

I agree. You have to read the preview to make sure they are 3.5, otherwise you have to convert. Most are pretty short and would fall into your time frame, and being as such aren't story-intensive. They run the gammit as far as levels are concerned.

I recently posted this question, wanting to run a one-shot with my old gaming group. Ended up buyiing In Media Res - The Temple of Mysteries from Malhavok Press. Got it done in just under four hours and had a great time - and only 5 bucks.

Great suggestion. I have not run this adventure yet, but am waiting for the opportunity. Perfectly designed as a one-shot. Be sure none of your players is familiar with it, the biggest fun of the adventure depends on a secret.
