A Vow of Fire (or Vow of Destruction) such that the group would never use the products of civilization might be appropriate. So no forged weapons -- just clubs, greatclubs, whips, quarterstaves, slings, bows & arrows (magically hardened thorn heads or something). Perhaps all of them are illiterate (no Scrolls). Perhaps they can only use natural poisons.
Seems a bit unfair, though. "No loot? Again?!"
