I've always been a little confused about when you actually need to make saves for the various image spells, and what each can actually do.
For silent image, can you actually make the image react to things? Now the PH says you only make a save if you interact with it. So if I look at it or walk near it, no save. but if I shoot at it, talk to it, touch it, then you make a save correct? But no matter what happens, like if your hand goes right through the image, but you fail your save, you still think its real?
Then for the better images like major image, that allow thermal effects and such. can I use those images to do complex moves like grappling? if the save is failed, will the person believe he's grappled and act accordingly? Also, let's say I create the image of an azer or other fire creature. Since azer do heat damage, will the character take a sort of mental heat damage if he fails his save. Basically if the fire damage takes him below 0, he'll pass out, but hasn't really lost any hp from fire.
