SHARK I truely admire your dedication, and attention to detail. Just thought you deserved a thread of appreciation for sharing the fruit of your campaign.

What an odd thing for someone from "An isolated festering ball of hatred" to say... ;)

Seriously though, I love SHARK's work too.

And if you take a look at RangerWickett's post in Shark hobgoblin thread, you'll see that it might happen sooner than you think...

I second that motion! SHARK is amazing, and I only wish I could play in a campaign with him; buying something of his would be the second best thing, I suppose.

Hurrah for SHARKy!

I agree I love SHARK'S work. I could never put that much attention to detail. He adds more flavor text in 3 creatures than WotC puts in the entire monster manual.

Publishing and Rights

As I said before, I love SHARK's work, and I've love to see it published, but I have to wonder how it would play out from SHARK's perspective.

If you don't own your own publishing company, someone else has to publish your work. Do they let you keep the rights? Would you sign over your life work and all derivative works for a few hundred bucks? Or a few thousand?

Is anyone willing to publish with unexclusive rights?

if this board had an "MVP", my man would be it - hands down. he starts interesting threads, gives interesting answers to others' threads, and, near as i can tell, is pretty much universally liked.

Who would win, Piratecat or SHARK? Interesting question.

And basically, until you have enough publishing clout, you should not try to publish your baby at all if you intend to use it again. The legal hassles of handling who owns what 10 years down the line when the author wants to write a novel and the company wants to print an excerpt from the game book is way too complicated to be worth it unless it's something that you know is a surefire hit.
