I vote SHARK should publish

My friends, I look so forward to coming here to be with you all. Some of you, sometime, somehow, may be able to get together with me for a Southern California Game Con. Perhaps a private get together for the good people from the area? All of my new friends here, like WSMITH, MMADSEN, really are such a blessing. Who says you can't make cool friends on the internet?

Thanks for the kind words, SHARK. I'd love to get together sometime to get killed by your Hobgoblins. The cruel irony though is that I just moved away from So Cal. :(

There are so many possibilities!:) As a side note, can you my friends, describe what geographical locations, organizations, religions, and so on, that you would most like to see most? What are your favorites?

Start at the beginning.

Seriously though, maybe we could get an Introduction to SHARK's World and how it got that way.

I vote in favor of Shark as well

Well, I too have been a lurker, I don't even know if I have ever responded before, but, have read a lot of threads around. I really like Sharks work. I believe he has a real gift with words as well as the ability to share his vision with others. I was reading Dr. Midnight's thread and was floored with the response Shark gave that even. A non gamin' topic. It was well thought out. I think Shark should be published. That is my thoughts on the subject, but on a side note.

Shark have you tried talking with Green Ronin, Bastion Press or any of these smaller d20 companies, they might even sign an agreement to let you write for them without giving up your rights. I would really check them out.

Shark, do you have a web page with all your stuff on it? I'd love to read more than just the three most recent posts...

I went back to find all I could of SHARK'S creations, and was able to save into word docs the following: Dregnar, Hobgoblin, Ogre, and Orc.

In addition I saw rumors of the following:
Dwarf variations,
Elf variations,
Giant (Frost, Fire, and Cloud) variations,
A Pheonician-like Minotaur,
An Elephant people living in organized communal herd-cities,
A Hippo people with an Egyptian-influenced city.

SHARK, have you posted anything other than the Dregnar, Hobgoblin, Ogre, and Orc? If so, could you repost them? If not, we would love to see the!

There are many posts over the last couple of years with info on different parts of his world, the massive wars, his view on paladins and smiting evil, the effects of the D&D level of magic on warfare, castle design, and other aspects of the game, as well as snippets of all kinds of cool stuff over the years. The majority of the stuff was probably on the boards when they were Eric Noah's and is long gone, gone, gone!

It's a shame really. Hopefully he keeps copies of all the major stuff he posts - or better yet these posting were just clippings from some huge collection of documents he maintains about his setting with lots of more interesting stuff.

My favorites were the "Going down the road to hell" 1 & 2.

Well, SHARK, it looks like there's an ample array of support for your hard work and thought-filled labors. I recall the very first time you and I crossed paths on these Boards about a year ago...

*queue hokey flashback music and fade to black*

*refocus on a young man perusing the EN World Boards*

...it was in a thread dealing with -- ethics, morals, and paladin behavior. Imagine that ;) :D !! You and I supported one another's arguments for perspective and context being paramount when assessing the actions of our favorite class. Since then we've raised innumerable pints of Bass Ale, and smoked a humidor full of fine ciagrs, all over the internet.

I appreciate you bouncing some of your ideas, races, and storylines off me (actually I'm flattered), and I'm certain that many of your publishing efforts will come to fruition. May we find ourselves (along with the wives of course) breaking bread and sharing tales in person someday soon. Until then, as always, you shall have my friendship and support.

SHARKy, why don't you aim low and send a couple of your ideas to Dragon mag?

As someone who was particularly impressed with your King's Rangers (I believe they were called) and now with your Hobgoblins, I would initially focus on those two categories--Prestige Classes that aren't just glorified stat blocks but are really worth the name, and humanoids that aren't just silly extras on dungeon level 1. They would take up just a couple pages and would be easily adaptable for other people's campaign settings.

I also liked your very evocative city descriptions (I remember something about an amphitheatre by the sea), but those would be much harder to find a good publishing format for, I guess.
