We have paladins, we have blackguard, why inst there paladins for every god? I always wanted to play a paladin of Talos I think it would be a lot of fun.

Check out Unearthed Arcana there's Chaotic Good, Lawful Evil, and Chaotic Evil paladins in there.

Have fun with your chaotic evil storm god paladin, but just remember to work with the rest of the party. They're all playing the same game you are after all.

I'm playing a gnome paladin of Garl Glittergold, despite the NG/LG difference.

I think of the trickster aspect of Garl as being instructive --- this is what not to do. He rights wrongs through example, uses satire to good effect, and deflates blowhards. He sometimes lets people screw up and then patiently explains what they did wrong. He encourages others to find their lines and speak plainly. He deals with others fairly, but not unintelligently --- he can still trick unrighteous kobolds. But I've drawn a line for him, beyond which he doesn't compromise.

Yeah I know, I DM too, I know how frustrating the "evil" player can be...

EvilPlayer: I castrate the gnome and piss fire on his head!
DM: *sigh* You cant do that.
EvilPlayer: But I'm EVIL!
DM: Ok, new rule, no more evil charecters!
FormerlyEvilPlayer:You are teh lazy DM!
DM: You are a horrible role player, and no class or race in the D&D multiverse pisses fire.

I like the gnome paladin too that sounds cool.

Because paladins are lawful good, and therefore generally worship LG, NG or LN gods.

Kinda counterproductive for a CE god to empower one of the good guys, in general.

Do you mean a paladin for every god or a divine champion of some sort (like clerics) for every god?

Clerics are paladins with more spells and a little weaker non-buffed combat. So the niche is there in the core to play a divine champion of Talos.

Evil characters are fine, as long as you have a player mature enough not to play homicidal weirdo stupid evil guy.

Ah, I remember the old Plethora of Paladins and it's many classes like the chaotic neutral Fantra and some of the other classics. Good stuff overall and never really recaputed in game mechanics, although the spirit has been.

Yeah exactly. Clerics are priests. Think about a paladin and a cleric of the same god. Now compare and contrast. I want paladins for every god man. That'd be cool!

I did away with paladins IMC and created a divine champion prestige class (more like an advanced class, really, since it can be entered at 4th level) that is open to characters of all alignments and religions, with customizable "blessings."
