I want to see D20 <fill-in-the-blank> [Thread from 2002]

I agree with all these that have been mentioned...

D20 G.I. Joe
D20 Transformers
D20 Alternity/Star*Drive
D20 Masters of the Universe
D20 Battletech/Mechwarrior

One that I'd like to see that I didn't see mentioned.

D20 Pirates of Dark Water

Withouta doubt I"d design the mechanics for a Final FAntasy d20. No modern, none of that BESM stuff, a legit Final Fantasy. There are fan sites but I think they make a mistake in trying to include characters and places from the previous Final Fantasy's and miss detailing the basic mechanics of a Final Fantasy. I'm hoping Chrystaria will be a good blueprint of how a non previous Final Fantasy campaign is suppose to go. I"m using an egypitian setting (previous FFs have used wasteland, european, authorian, techno, INdustrial and fairy tale settings). Maybe I'll combine all the mechanics in a book and just call it The Last Fantasy, a console rpg d20 setting. hmmm

I'd like to see some Final Fantasy RPG material.

*oh yeah, bump*

Some people in this thread have or will soon get their wish with the likes of D20 Apocalypse for Road Warrior, Game of Thrones d20, Babylon 5 d20, Farscape d20, and Starcraft d20.

I'd really like to see more Amber material so an Amber d20 could be very cool.

Perhaps some Dune d20 as well.

Wow, I didn't realize how old the thread was until after I posted. and I believe the Game of Thrones RPG coming out won't be d20. I could be wrong though.

d20 Battletech

Player 1: "I rolled a natural twenty to hit with my gauss cannon."
GM: "Roll threat thingee, blah, blah"
Player 1: "Hit!"
GM: "Gauss cannon does 3d12 damage, ignores armour. x3 crit multiplier."
Player 1 rolls 9d12
Player 1: "w00t! 90 damage."
GM: "The little man attempting to flee from your Mad Cat Omnimech explodes into little half-life-esque gibbets of raw flesh. The shot also pierces through the rest of the office complex..."

You get the point.

WotC is putting out a new d20 Modern sourcebook this year called d20 Cyberscape. I think the title means it will be useful for a Tron type setting. Don't know ywt, as Amazon.com didn't have any "real" info on the book.

Xanadu D20

That would be hilarious!

Apparently Bards Tale IV was worked on at one point by Dave Arneson...but never materialized...

Anyway, I would like to see Ogre Battle series converted to d20. That's got an incredibly rich world and history, and it would actually work pretty well under d20, I think.

Actually, there are a number of Japanese console RPGs that would make pretty good RPGs. I've never understood why no one (apparently) has tried to license any of them.

I would also like to see an Ethshar d20 RPG. That's a fantasy series from Lawrence Watt-Evans. http://www.ethshar.com/

Apparently he's open to it being made into an RPG. (And in fact, it apparently originally was made for a Play by mail game he ran in the early 80s). Though it's apparently not a very popular series, since he can't find a publisher for future novels in the series.

thats why I'd like to see... ...d20 Paranoia... ...Thats probably the funnest game I've played.

Another game that is being/has been remade, but it too isn't a d20 game. I think it is called Paranoia XP, or something like that?

Anyway, it is like Crothian said, it's good to see that a lot of what people wished for came true, whether it was done as a d20/OGL game or not.

I meant Xanadu D20 based off the Olivia Newton-John movie. How could that be hilarious?

Are you kidding? That's a funny movie. I know it's not suppose to come off that way, but come on!

Or are you thinking Xanadu set in a post-year 2000 kind of way, more grim and gritty. Because any game based in the late 70s/early 80s will come off as hilarious, to me.

Then again, perhaps I'm bias and too much of a diehard rock hound.
