I don't know what novels you're talking about, but there's a classic series of modules from the 1970s -- G123 Against the Giants and D123Q1 (Descent into the Depths of the Earth, Shrine of Kou-Toa, Vault of the Drow, and Queen of the Demonweb Pits).

Novel Series "War of the Spider Queen"
"City of the Spider Queen" Module WOTC 2002ish
Several Dragon Magazine issues had the characters from the novels.
Underdark book from WOTC 2004 had many characters from the novels and background.
Players Guide to Faerun (3.5e) and Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (3e) are very good
"Menzoberanzan" boxed set from TSR in the 80's had many characters from the drow city.

Drow book from the 80's had a lot background information.
Book of Vile Darkness is very useful and related

Good choices.

For more novels, you can read all things Drizzt by R.A. Salvatore, especially the Dark Elf Saga (Homeland, Exile, Sojourn), as well as the Legacy series. Plenty of Underdark and Menzo action there. Also, there's the Starlight and Shadows series from Elaine Cunningham, also featuring drow.

The various 2e TSR books detailing the drow are some of the best sources, and which I've recently been trying to get my hands on. The Menzo box set is to drool over. Drizzt Dourden's Guide to the Underdark is awesome as well.
