Aric looks down the corridor and decides to reposition the bond fire to see better.

No sooner has the magical bonfire sprung to life, than the weep-holes in the engraved likeness of dwarven face around the door's arch begin to glow bright white. A staccato sound echoes the corridor as four blurred streaks careen from the archway to strike the flagstones beneath the bonfire.

Aric lets the fire burn a few seconds, and dismisses it. He then conjures another about 5ft away.

OOC: cast create bond fire in the square north of the one on the latest map

Alma watches Aric draw the magic missiles around the hallway, nodding her approval. It's an effective way to test the boundaries. Unfortunately, the results aren't encouraging. "I don't know how effective the ice toads will be here. If the same principles of heat triggering the trap apply, one of us could theoretically stay within the toads' aura as they move down the hall. But that would require prolonged exposure. I could ask them to ferry us back and forth, but we would need to keep the groups small. That would also assume that there is a safe area beyond the door in which the previous person could wait."

Zeth fidgets, he's obviously anxious to get moving.

"Why can't we just disable the traps? This place belongs to the dwarves and they're more than capable of taking care of whatever monsters the magic missiles may be keeping out."

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.
"I agree, we wasted lots of time and resources to help and ti gain access to The Deep. It doesn't appear this inner sanctum has been breached.

But if we want to be thourough, we might need to sever those pipes going from the gem"

Lumrolur wants to move on, but they promised safe temple. Minor quible given that it seems safe here. But if need be, no one said the temple need to be undamaged.
"Lets try with toads. Alma, ask them to move with me, I'll check for traps and safe spaces."

"Aye, I'm inclined to agree. This part of the temple seems untouched by the undead." Brydum surveys the ominous passage with furrowed brows. "And you'll be leading those toads out of here, so there'll be no more menaces. Unless you've the desire to delve further... I'll vouch for you with Dain Silverstream that you've cleared Dumathoin's temple of the zombies."

"But if you do wish to press down this passage..."
the old dwarven guard nods to those of you considering that possibility. "I'd say Lumrolur's first strategy – pouring water on the weepholes and freezing them over with magic – would be better than doing permanent damage. It would be a bleeding shame to potentially damage the sacred Gem Press."

"It was my understanding that we wished to check deeper into the sanctum in case instructions for the Gem Press could be found," Alma looks around. "But if this isn't the case, I have no qualm with pressing ahead into the Underdark."

She passes along the instructions to the toads, to follow Lumrolur if he goes down the passage.
