(IC) The Chaos principle

Dalaa Gand, Githzerai Monk

Dalaa nods his acceptance as Susanna speaks about the Slaadi and the danger of summoning a white one. "Very accurate information on the Slaadi, My Lady. Be prepared for anything for the Slaadi are the epitome of chaos and the most powerful Lords are usually mutated beyond belief. The creature summoned might not even have much frog-like features common to the species."

"The summoning - which isn't by all means any small feat - will be the easy part. Getting the creature to tell us anything significant is another matter. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the spell, that is going to be used will not directly compel the Slaad to aid us in any way. If this is the case, then we must be clever and cautious like never before." The monk casts a waiting look at Susanna and then proceeds to the other magic-users at present as if hoping, that someone of them would tell he was wrong and this would be easier.

Susanna face screws in thought for a moment before answering the githzerai, as if she is in two minds about her answer.

"By no means is any magic definate, so tackling the creature may or may not be difficult. It is no simple summoning or binding spell, but an effect that will open a direct portal to the creature's home plane and yank him through willing or no. If we only promise to keep him for a short period of time we should not need to bargain at all, for it is only information that we seek."

Takarana shrugs, "I hope you have some truth compelling magic at hand, or at least something that will detect lies. I would not trust it to deal with us honestly, excuse me while I make the preperations," he moves to the designated area of the room and begins to meticulosuly trace out a circle in silver powder, "Most of you don't need telling this, but do not disturb these glyphs or the protection will be ineffective. This should hold it, but won't necessarily prevent any hostile act - so be warned."

OOC:
Magic circle v Law, inwardly focused. Drawing the augmented version and taking 10 on doing so.

Elendel continues to watch from his corner, shaking his head. He did not doubt that he was not the wisest among them, but he felt the course that these 'adventurers' were about to take to be full-hearty to say the least. But then desperate times call fro desperate measures, so perhaps it was not 'overkill' as he was thinking it to be. The ranger knew that his ways were simplistic, but most of the time they sufficed. Well, he could not stop them from acting, but he could still offer some form of protection incase any DID go wrong..., but hopfully he would not be needed.

Just in case, he pulls his bow from the worn quiver at his side, which is much to small for it, and strings it and readies an arrow besides.

He could hardly believe that they were planning on doing the summoning here, if he had understood them, but if so, he was ready... and if not, he could follow them, he was certain, for though the bear may be able to track 'better then any man', Elendel was an elf, and he could track pretty well himself.

Harald sees the elf drawing a bow, grins. and draws his own. This titanic weapon more resembles a stockless ballista, being a full 12 feet in length and carved of dragonbone in a recurve. He looks at the elf's bow, then at his own, and lets his silence speak for itself.

Elendel nods to the bear-man in respect. Elendel, hidden in the corner would have thought very few people would be able to spot him, and if the bear did, then he was more perceptive then almost anyone the ranger had met,
OOC: 51 Hide on average, so far, (I really have to finish Elendel up!)
, but Elendel knows the he, himself was pretty perseptive, so if Elendel could see so well, then anyone could be.

As to the bears balista-bow, well it was empressive looking, and if it promised to deal as much damage as it looked to, then he was glad to have it aimed at something other then himself and nods to the werebear in acknowledgement of that fact.

OOC: Looking at the character sheets, the werebear and Elendel have ALOT in common. I think they will be great rivals, or friends, whichever it ends up being.

*Quillia simply nods when they agree to do the summoning. Putting herself a safe distance away, she prepares to strike should it get out of hand.*

Susanna nods to each present respectfully and moves over to watch Takarana's careful hand as he draws the intricate circle upon the floor. Casting this summoning in such a place was probably not the best idea, but summoning this creature in the first place wasn't a great idea either.

As the circle is complete Susanna nods her thanks and moves to a position to allow the others in the room a good view, and shot, of the creature when it appears.

"I have but a few preperation spells before I begin."

Grasping her holy symbol firmly, Susanna chants mystical prayers in a powerful but calm voice. Slight energies form around her body and are softly inhaled, creating a short lasting glow from her mouth before fading.

OOC: Casting Tongues, duration 190 minutes.

Allowing the holy symbol to drop to her chest once more, she follows quickly with a second chant wich creates a barely visable glow behind her eyes before fading almost as fast as it appeared.

OOC: Casting Wieldskill (Diplomacy +10, duration 19 minutes.

With her initial enchantments complete, Susanna turns to the magic circle and creates a calm about her. The initial words of power seem to boom and echo within the chambers, and the magic that courses through her body causes static electricity to run rampant within the room. A careful and practiced hand weaves a complex symbol in the air before her, the magical energies weaving into a pattern that folds in upon itself and quickly tears at the very fabric of reality.

Within the centre of the circle reality bends in upon itself, and the winds of chaos briefly rush into the chamber causing papers and small objects to scatter through the air. All this is barely noticed as Susanna's chant reaches a powerful crescendo and there is a snapping sound as the spell's creation comes to an end...

OOC: Casting Gate (Calling Creatures - White Slaad 24HD/CR21, immediate task of questioning, 1000xp cost, duration 19 rounds)

With a shudder and a bending of reality an Ogre appears inside the
circle of prot LAW.He is wearing leathers and looks quite unkept. A large sword is strapped across his back rings adorn both hands, a staff on his belt looks to be a stick to this large ogre a large belt pouch hangs on the other side of his belt. He glares out at those around him.

In common he asks. "What for you bring me here?"
