D&D 5E [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Blopp motions for Ezraen to be brought forward. The guard behind him uses his spear to move the paladin forward and then cracks him in the back of the leg to drive him to his knees. Blopp starts forward smiling obscenely but as she gets close her expression contorts into one of rage. She's noticed the dagger!

Orsik is ready, though and casts his spell. Blopp, the monitor, the whip and the guard as well as a handful of kuo-toa standing nearby burst into green and purple flames.

OOC:
Here is how this will work. Blopp is not surprised. (+9 perception).

Orsik still gets a 20 init. Everyone else will roll. On Blopp's turn she can alert one of her guards and still act.

The forces of both sides mostly balance out. The excess Deep Father troops will be the monitor, the whip, Blopp and the 4 guards. Ploop will participate on your side. Glugg conspicuously stands back.

Events during the battle may change this.

Make your init rolls and Ez and Surana make your two SoH checks to see if your bonds can be slipped easily. If not, it requires an action to get yourself out. DC is 13. You can use Erevan's +7 SoH bonus.

 

The flames from Orsik's spell 'stick' to all four of the creatures. The whole area is bathed in a sickly green light. All the kuo-toa (except Blopp) are awestruck as the four of you and Ploop leap into action.
