D&D 5E [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Ezraen's shot bounces off its armor. Surana barely scratches it. [MENTION=6776182]JustinCase[/MENTION], Can Erevan finish it off?

Erevan quietly curses. How did he miss? It was an easy target, yet somehow his arrow didn't come near the hook horror. It must be this infernal, lightless place, messing with his head, messing up his skills. Drawing another arrow, Erevan takes a moment to steady his breathing, focuses on the arrow and its intended target, and lets go.

OOC: I sure hope Erevan can finish this! Attack: [roll0] +bless [roll1] Damage: [roll2] +sneak attack [roll3]

Erevan's shot sinks into the creature's eye. As it reflexively tries to dislodge the shaft it lets go of the ledge and slides down the cliff, crumpling in a heap on a large boulder below.

Everything falls silent. A gentle breeze ripples through your clothes. Is that a hint of fish you smell? The ledge is definitely descending and you can make out the faint outline of the shoreline of a bay and the faint dots of lights indicating a settlement. It's not far...another half a mile away...

 

[JustinCase]

"Good riddance," says Erevan as he watches the monster slide down and remain still. "Surana! Derendil! Are you alright?"

He looks at the kuo toa who's tied to him by a piece of rope, and smiles. "At least we're almost back to civilization. Let's get moving before more horrors appear."

 

[Uller]

OOC: Are you going to do any healing or take a short (or long?) rest before moving on? Surana is at 14/26 hp, Derendil is 'bloodied' (below 50%), Orsik is bruised up a bit.

"Maybe we can take a rest here and tend to wounds," Ezraen says as he checks to make sure that the group did not draw more attention, "We may have bought ourselves a brief respite."

OOC: Burn some HD first, before moving on?

OOC: Healing will be wise, but Erevan has no such magic. We could take a short rest, but I'm not sure if that's a comfortable thing near three dead monsters. With more predators lurking in the dark, no doubt.

OOC: Ez is thinking that at least this is a somewhat defensible place, rather than getting attacked again on the path down. Trying not to be meta, but if the consensus is to move, Ezraen will use his cure wounds spells to bring the others up, hoping that Orsik's protection from evils will be enough in case the twins have a rough time...

OOC: Yeah, I think we need a bit of healing. Neither option is safe, but IMO a short rest would be preferable to using Orsik's last two spells. I'm fine either way, though.
