Ice Age Knights

Durandal

First Post
Well, while I'm playing a paladin in one game (see the Paladin Inspirations thread), I'm also thinking up another. I'm trying to set a game in something similar to the setting the the Ice Age/Alliances expansions for Magic: The Gathering, and one of the cool things I thought they had were a bunch of knightly and military orders with cool names. Sadly, I'm a little stumped when it comes to thinking up the names of cool knightly or military orders, so I thought I would ask for help here, since y'all are far more creative than I normally am. :) Anything you can come up with would be great - just know that I have a list of Ice Age orders here, and I also have Frostburn, so no cheating by using any of those! :)

Brotherhood of the Sacred Flame - Dedicated to ensuring that fires do not go out. They battle the various ice creatures etc, to ensure that mankind retains the knowledge of fire because if they lose that then the Ice Age will claim everyones lives.

Order of the Frozen Heart - They safeguard the frozen heart of some demon lord from before the Ice Age, and seek to thwart the efforts of those who would bring about a thawing of the world, knowing that if the temperature rises, the heart will warm up and regenerate the demon lord it belongs too. A group of "the ends justify the means" types.

Best I can come up with off the top of my head, though both of those sound more like secret societies than knightly orders thinking about it. Ehh what's a world without cultists? *grins*

I tried this once...

I ran a campaign once based on the Ice Age time and setting. All I heard were complaints from my non-Magic playing players because they weren't familiar with the card game. I tried to explain to them that they didn't need any knowledge of the card game whatsoever, but they had the mindset that it wasn't going to work, and so it didn't. Dissappointing that they wouldn't even give it a chance. So now when I use Magic settings for a campaign, I just don't tell them. :P
Later!
Gruns

That's kind of how I figured it would go, Gruns - which is why I don't plan on telling any of them until it is too late and they are already caught in my insidious web.

Anyone else? I could really use the help.
