Ice Devil Fire Immunity

Not so much of a question, but a weird detail:

Has anyone else noticed that Ice Devils have immunity to fire and code resistance 10?

Damage reduction 10/good, darkvision 60 ft., immunity to fire and poison, resistance to acid 10 and cold 10, regeneration 5, see in darkness, spell resistance 25, telepathy 100 ft.

I don't know...if I were made of ice, I'd probably try to get protection from fire too!

Like a troll protecting itself from fire and acid. Seems like a natural fit.

Yeah. It's weird, but it looks they were simply copying the abilities of most devils.

Ice Devils aren't [cold] either. So what? In fact the only thing actually "icy" about them are two spell like abilities and their physical appearance.

Ice devil is merely the common term for them. Gelugon is the name of the species, the scientific term if you will. The common name is probably derived from the fact that many adventurers have noted they have an affinity for ice magic and their blue sheen makes them appear icy. Additionally, many of them dwell in on the 5th layer of Hell which is frozen over, furthering the perception that they are creatures with a fundamental association with ice. However, the fact that they lack the cold subtype is evidence that they have merely developed an affinity for ice magic, which may or may not have anything to do with where they most often reside.
