Sadly, yes. I "enjoyed" a very brief stint on a Harry Potter mailing list that was huge and billed itself as the non-kid HP list. There was some great analysis of the books in terms of predictive reasoning, but the inane discussions on which of the professors was "hot" or not drove me crazy.

Especially in regards to Snape.
